Shining God’s Love in the Darkness!

Hey beautiful sisters in Christ! 🌸

Have you ever encountered someone who seems lost, caught in the darkness of the world, and just doesn’t know where to turn? Maybe they’re struggling with hurt, confusion, or the weight of their choices. As teen girls, we are surrounded by people who are trying to figure out their lives, and sometimes, it can feel like they’re walking through life in total darkness. But there’s something we need to remember: we are the light of the world, shining God’s love to others.

The darkness in this world is real. People all around us are facing battles—whether it’s dealing with fear, addiction, low self-esteem, or feelings of loneliness. We all know what it feels like to be weighed down by life. And yet, in all of that darkness, we have the light of Jesus shining inside us. He is the hope that can break through any darkness, and it’s our job as His followers to reflect that light to those who need it most.

In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus tells us, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
This verse is such a beautiful reminder that we are meant to be the light in a dark world. God has placed us exactly where we are for a reason: to reflect His love and lead others toward Him. But how do we do this? How do we reflect God’s light when the world is filled with so much pain and brokenness?

1. Love Like Jesus: The most powerful way we can shine God’s light is by loving others the way He loves us. That means showing kindness, patience, and grace to those around us—even when they’re hard to love. Sometimes the people who seem the most lost are the ones who need love the most. When we love like Jesus, we show the world what His love really looks like.

2. Speak Truth in Love: It’s easy to just go along with the world and say nothing when others are lost in sin, but we are called to speak the truth in love. That doesn’t mean we judge or condemn, but rather, we gently share the message of hope found in Jesus. Our words can be a light to someone’s heart, guiding them out of the darkness and into the light of God’s truth.

3. Be a Friend Who Prays: Sometimes, we can’t always change someone’s situation or fix their problems. But one thing we can do is pray. Pray for those who are struggling, for the lost, and for those who need to feel the light of God’s presence. Prayer is powerful, and it connects us to the heart of God. He can work in ways we can’t even see.

4. Lead by Example: Our actions speak louder than our words. When we choose to live with integrity, joy, and peace—even in tough situations—we are showing others what it looks like to walk with God. When people see the difference Jesus makes in our lives, they’ll want that same peace and joy for themselves.

5. Be Patient and Compassionate: Sometimes, the people around us don’t immediately respond to the light we’re trying to share. It can be discouraging when we feel like our efforts aren’t making a difference. But we have to remember that God’s timing is perfect. Just as He was patient with us, we need to be patient with others. Keep praying, keep showing love, and trust that God is working in their hearts.

The world can be a dark place, but we are not called to hide away from it. We are called to stand tall, to shine brightly, and to love deeply. Let’s take every opportunity to reflect God’s light and lead those who are lost in the darkness of sin toward the Savior who loves them more than they can imagine.
Remember, you are never alone in this journey. We are all sisters in Christ, walking together toward a future full of light, hope, and eternal life. Let’s keep shining His love, one heart at a time.
