Embrace Your Waiting Season Even When It’s Hard
Hey friends! 💖
Let’s be real for a second: waiting can be so hard. Whether you’re waiting for your dreams to unfold, answers to prayers, or just waiting for God to move in your life, it’s tough. And honestly, sometimes it can feel like you’re stuck in limbo, unsure of what’s next. But, as hard as it is, the waiting season is one of the most important parts of our walk with Jesus.
The Bible tells us that as humans, we’re born with a natural tendency toward impatience and worry. We often don’t have the patience that the Holy Spirit can produce in us. It’s one of the fruits of the Spirit, and it doesn’t come naturally! Waiting for God’s perfect timing can bring out all our doubts, fears, and anxieties. Sometimes it feels like we’re waiting forever, and we just don’t know how to trust that God’s plan is actually better than our own.
But here’s the good news: God is with us in the waiting. It’s okay to feel uncertain, but we don’t have to stay stuck there. The key is learning to trust God’s timing, even when it doesn’t make sense. And instead of focusing on “what ifs” and doubts, we can learn to focus on “even ifs.”
When you stop asking yourself, “What if things go wrong?” and start saying, “Even if things don’t go the way I expect, I trust God is still in control.” It’s about replacing anxiety with faith.
Let’s look at a few powerful verses that remind us of this:
1. Isaiah 40:31 – “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”God promises that when we hope and trust in Him, He will give us the strength to keep going—even in the waiting. Trusting Him doesn’t mean life will be easy, but He promises to be our source of strength.
2. Philippians 4:6-7 – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”This is huge! Instead of worrying about the future, we can bring our concerns to God in prayer. And when we do, He promises to give us peace that doesn’t make sense—a peace that guards our hearts in the middle of the wait.
3. Romans 8:28 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”Sometimes, we don’t understand why things aren’t happening the way we hoped. But we can trust that God is working everything out for our good—even the tough moments. His plan is always better than our own.
4. Daniel 3:18 – “But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”I absolutely love this verse! It’s from the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Even though they were facing certain death if they didn’t bow to an idol, they chose to trust God no matter the outcome. Even if things don’t turn out the way they expected, they knew God was still good. This is the kind of trust we can learn to have in God, too.
So, how do we get through the waiting?
• Focus on God’s promises. When we focus on what He has said—about His love, His timing, and His faithfulness—it helps us stop worrying. Trusting Him is the best way to let go of the “what ifs.”
• Pray, pray, pray. Don’t let anxiety take over. Spend time talking to God about your fears and ask Him to give you peace. Trust that He hears you and that He is with you in every season of life.
• Surround yourself with truth. Whether it’s reading your Bible, listening to worship music, or talking with friends who remind you of God’s goodness, make sure you are filling your mind and heart with truth.
Friends, the waiting season doesn’t have to be a time of worry and anxiety. It can be a time of growth, peace, and trust in God’s perfect plan. Even when life feels uncertain, let’s replace those “what ifs” with “even ifs,” knowing that God is always with us, working for our good. If you’re in a waiting season right now, take heart. You’re not alone. God is working in you and through you, and His plan for your life is unfolding in ways you can’t even imagine yet. So trust Him, breathe easy, and know that the wait is worth it. ✨
Even if it’s hard, God is good.
